Swimming Boys Varsity Scores

Holland Boys Varsity Swim and Dive had a great first home meet of their season. The Dutch beat Wayland 94-69 and lost to Ottawa Hills 89-90 in the double dual match up. The medley relay team of Charlie Dumez (backstroke), Luke Arendshorst (breaststroke), Jonathan Ross (butterfly) and Aiden Lambers (freestyle) placed first with a season best time of 1:52.90. Sophomore Lambers placed 2nd in the 200 freestyle (2:01.99) and took first in the 100 freestyle (53.26). Junior Ross went second in the 200 IM (2:27.01) and second in the 100 freestyle (57.58). Junior Arendshorst was second in the 50 freestyle (25.58) and took first in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.45). Freshman Dumez got second in the 100 backstroke (1:12.41). Arendshorst, Ross, Dumez and Lambers teamed up again to win the 200 freestyle relay (1:41.96). “Our guys had some really good swims tonight!” Said Coach Tonya Book. “We’re making improvements with each meet.” The Dutch will have a few weeks of intense training before their next meet on Thursday, January 8 at Ludington High School. The meet will begin at 6:00pm.
