Holland Wrestling competed this weekend at the MHSAA District 12-2 Tournament, and our guys battled hard from start to finish. Districts are never easy — every match matters, and the level of competition is high across the board. ⸻ 🥈 132 – Aiden Segovia (45-6) – 2nd Place Aiden advanced to the finals with a dominant fall in the quarters and a tough semifinal win over Zeeland East. He finished as District Runner-Up after a hard-fought championship match. Another outstanding postseason performance. ⸻ 🥈 190 – Andreas Valkema (33-7) – 2nd Place Andreas powered his way to the finals with back-to-back pins in the quarterfinals and semifinals. He finished 2nd after a competitive finals bout and continues to show he belongs among the best at 190. ⸻ 🥉 165 – Mikkel Adams (35-18) – 4th Place Mikkel battled through the backside of the bracket with toughness and resilience, including a sudden victory win in the consolation semifinals, to secure a 4th place finish. ⸻ Strong Efforts Across the Lineup Several other Dutchmen earned key wins and represented Holland with pride: • Manuel Garza (175) – 2 wins, including two pins • Juan Reyna (215) – Advanced to the semifinals with two solid victories • Jayden Ky-De La Rosa (285) – Opened with a major decision win • Adrian English (106) • David Uk (113) • Luciano Gomez (138) • Ernesto Chavez (150) ⸻ Thank You, Seniors We are extremely proud of our seniors who competed this season. The commitment, leadership, and toughness they’ve shown in the wrestling room and on the mat have helped shape this program. You’ve set the standard for work ethic and perseverance. We will miss you next season, but more importantly, we are excited to see what you accomplish in life beyond wrestling.
