Holland Public Schools

On Saturday, Holland traveled to Plainwell for the Plainwell Invitational. In the first match of the day. Holland defeated Plainwell 4-0. Jovanny Carrillo, Malachi Honderd, Pike Fletter, and Mason Soto all scored goals for the Dutch. Sawyer DeWitt, Fletter, and Caelen Gray all earned assists. Goalies Simon Ozimek and Landon VanIngen shared the shutout. In the second match of the day, Holland defeated Battle Creek Lakeview 2-0. Luke Rund-Scott converted a penalty kick and assisted Pike Fletter. Defenders Asher Folkert, Sawyer DeWitt, Gael Garcia, Greydon Prince, and Simeon Carter helped goalie Simon Ozimek earn the shutout. "We played well today," said Holland coach Greg Ceithaml. "We needed a great effort from our players to overcome such good competition. It was very encouraging to see so many of our players playing at such a high level." Holland Varsity is now 3-0-1. In JV action, the Holland JV beat Plainwell 4-0 and tied Battle Creak Lakeview 1-1.
