Your Holland Girls Varsity Swim and Dive team got the win last night at The Holland Aquatic Center. The Dutch beat Wayland Union 103-73. The medley relay team of Emma Schucker, Sage Brown, Imagyn VanVeen and Emmi Prutch took the first win of the night. Then junior, Paige Frens and freshmen Avery Solomon and Eliana Carter went one, two and three in the 200 freestyle. Schucker and Prutch went two and three in the 50 freestyle. Divers, Vivian Bolt, Emma Valentine and Ally Valentine placed second, third and fourth. VanVeen came in second in the 100 butterfly and sophomore, Ale Rojas was third. Frens and Prutch also took second and third in the 100 freestyle. In an exciting 500 freestyle, Avery Solomon got the win and fellow freshman, Grace DuMez got third. Winning the sprint relay was the team of Schucker, Frens, Prutch and VanVeen. In the 100 backstroke, Schucker and Rylie Solomon were second and third. Ally Valentine and Sage Brown rounded out the night with second and third place finishes in the 100 breaststroke. “We had the depth and the right line up to win this meet tonight,” said Coach Tonya Book. “Everyone was in high spirits going into this meet and we performed really well!” The Dutch will travel to Muskegon on Monday, September 28. The meet will begin at 6:30.
