On Thursday night, Holland Soccer defeated Zeeland East 2-0 in the first round of the Division 2 District 19 tournament. Luke Rund-Scott scored the first Dutch goal, and Jovanny Carrillo scored the second goal from an assist pass by Santi Salazar. The Holland defense and the two Holland goalies, Landon Van Ingen and Simon Ozimek, share the 12th shutout of the season, tying a Holland Soccer record. "Zeeland played very well in the slippery, wet conditions," said Holland coach Greg Ceithaml. "We got some great contributions from the team. We are happy to move on in the tournament." Holland is now 14-1-4 and will play Zeeland West in the second round of the District Tournament hosted by Spring Lake.
