On Tuesday in Petosky, Holland Soccer beat Marquette 4-1 to win a Regional Championship. Holland opened the scoring in the first 7 minutes with a goal by Santi Salizar, assisted by Luke Rund-Scott. Jovanny Carrillo scored a lone goal; Marquette countered with a goal, and Carrillo scored again from a pass by Andi Andrade to make the halftime score 3-1. After a heated second half started, Carrillo scored another goal from a second assist by Andrade to complete the hat trick. "Marquette was a very physical side," said Holland coach Greg Ceithaml. "I was very happy with the way our team played. We played with control and skill. It was a good win for our program and we look forward to the state semifinal." Holland will play St. Joe next Wednesday at 7:00 at Forest Hills Central with a chance to move on to the state finals.
