The Holland Boys and Girls Cross Country teams delivered outstanding performances at today’s Regional Championships, with the Girls capturing 2nd place and the Boys finishing 3rd place, earning BOTH teams a spot at the State Finals on November 7! BOYS VARSITY – 3RD PLACE Leading the Dutch was Aiden Lambers, earning an 11th-place medal, followed closely by Caelen Gray in 12th, also bringing home a medal. Jack Schulte finished 19th, Rian Powers 31st, Will Rund 46th, Myles Pitcher 55th, and Luke Arendshorst 60th. The boys finished 3rd out of 13 regional teams with 118 points in an incredibly competitive race, behind HC (38 points) and Cedar Springs (93 points). This marks the FIRST time in 30 YEARS that Holland has sent a boys cross country team to the State Finals! GIRLS VARSITY – 2ND PLACE Olivia Weiss led the Dutch girls with an outstanding 5th-place medal finish. Molly Murphy followed in 12th, Tessa finished 16th, Johanna Mulder 17th, Lexi Gibson 22nd, Ashlyn Depoy 32nd, and Eisele Prutch 51st. The girls secured 2nd place out of 14 teams for the SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR, finishing with 72 points behind HC (34 points) and punching their ticket to State! Both teams showed up strong and ran for one another. Both teams demonstrated incredible tenacity, belief in themselves, and determination. Every runner played a role in getting these teams to this moment, and their hard work, commitment, and trust in one another paid off in a BIG way. We couldn't be prouder of these athletes and all they have accomplished.
