Varsity vs Gull Lake High School Win In the first match of the 2024 season, the Holland varsity soccer team defeated Gull Lake 1-0. The teams battled to a 0-0 tie in the first half. In the second half, Josiah VanHekken broke the stalemate after receiving a pass from Mm'Unga Kilozo for the win. Goalies Josh Keller and Mark Jordan shared the shut-out with the Holland defense. Varsity vs Grand Rapids Christian HS The Holland varsity soccer team played defending state champion Grand Rapids Christian in the second game of the afternoon on Saturday. This time, Los Dutch had difficulty keeping the Eagles back and lost 0-3. Despite a handful of scoring chances, the team could not find the net. Holland is now 1-1 and will host both Plainwell and Walled Lake next Saturday.
