Holland Varsity Swim and Dive vs Unity Christian High Schools (41 - 144) The Dutch hosted The Crusaders at The Holland Aquatic Center for their first home meet of the season. Personal best times were swum by every member of the team, but Holland was unable to secure a win. Senior Miriam Lopez-Koolhaas (26.67) was out touched by Unity’s Lily Dewaalmalefyt (26.66) in the 50 free. In the 100 freestyle, Lopez-Koolhaas (59.00)had the clear win until Dewaalmalefyt (58.02) pulled ahead in the last 10 yards to win the race. Junior Maggie Telgenhof (150.40) placed second in diving to Unity’s Charlotte Gast (167.15). “Unity Christian was a tough, deep team for us. We are learning and will take tonight’s competition as a good lesson. We saw big improvements on times, stroke techniques and finishes. I’m very proud of our team,” said Holland Coach Tonya Book.
