The Holland Dutch Varsity Swim and Dive team traveled to Allegan High School on Saturday, September 14 for The Allegan Tiger’s annual invitational. Holland competed very well with junior Maggie Telgenhof placing fifth overall in diving (150.75) and senior, Miriam Lopez-Koolhaas placing fifth in the 200 freestyle with a personal best time of 2:17.99 and fourth overall in the 100 backstroke with another personal best time of 1:09.70. Heat winners for The Dutch were: senior Morgan Siffin in the 50 freestyle (34.07) junior Ayanna Rodriguez in the 50 freestyle (33.28) freshman Olivia Bernal in the 100 freestyle (1:13.05), freshman Paige Frens in the 500 freestyle (7:43.63)and senior Danni Hughes in the 100 backstroke (1:39.47). “The Allegan Invite was a great day for us!” Said Coach Tonya Book. “We are making big improvements and learning how to race!” The Dutch will host Hamilton on Tuesday, September 17 at The Holland Aquatic Center. The meet will begin at 6:30pm.
