On Saturday afternoon, Holland hosted West Ottawa in the annual El Clasico match celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and tied 1-1. The match was back and forth in the first half, but early in the second half. Ali Sakhi-Zada was able to poke in a slotted ball from Odis Fickel to put Holland up. Unfortunately, West Ottawa converted about 10 minutes later to knot the score and cap the scoring. "West Ottawa is a very fast team," said Holland soccer coach Greg Ceithaml. "It was a spirited match with both teams gaining and losing momentum. It was a battle, and I told the team that battles will make us better." Holland is now 9-3-3. In JV action, Holland JV beat West Ottawa 3-0. Holland's JV team is now 13-0-1.
