Holland Varsity Swim and Dive put up a good fight against Wayland Union in their last home meet of the season. “The Dutch had 16 personal best swims this afternoon!” Exclaimed Coach Jenny Telgenhof. Freshman, Paige Frens was the first to PR with her swim in the 200 free, going 12 seconds faster than when she swam it just a few weeks ago. In the 200 Individual Medley, all 3 of Holland’s entries: freshman Lena D’Adonna, and seniors Miriam Lopez-Koolhaas and Karinna Martinez swam best times. Seniors Marua Koudri and Morgan Siffin dropped time in the 50 freestyle, as did freshmen Sydney McFarland, Olivia Bernal and Shaylen Anderson. The freshmen struck again in the 100 free with D’Adonna, Bernal and Rylie Solomon all with bests. In the 500, Martinez was able to take another 4 seconds off with a season best swim of 7:04.75 and Siffin dropped 50 seconds going 7:32.52. McFarland and Anderson gave best swims in the 100 breaststroke. The Dutch travel to Muskegon for a dual meet with Mona Shores on Tuesday, October 22.
