Cross Country Sends Four to State Finals

At the Cross Country Regionals, the boys' team had strong performances, finishing 7th overall in the region. Aiden Lambers finished in 14th, advancing to the state final next weekend with a PR time of 16:29.8, Caelen Gray, scoring 2nd on the team in 28th place, raced strong to a PR of 17:07.1. Alessandro Castillo finished 37th with a time of 17:58.1, and both Luke Arendshorst (54th, 18:57.1) and Rian Powers (58th, 19:06.8) rounded out the top 5. Noah Rosales finished 60th with a time of 19:12.3, and Nazario Estrada finished for the team in 62nd place with a 19:37.2, also setting a PR. The girls’ team raced strong, finishing 5th in the region and sending three runners to the state meet: Lexi Gibson, who finished 7th with a time of 19:16.9; Ambria DePoy, who placed 18th with a PR of 20:13.4; and Johanna Mulder, who finished 21st with a time of 20:32.2. Other strong performances included Ashlyn DePoy in 47th place (22:07.1), Harper Schoon-Tanis in 53rd (22:28.0) with a PR, Ashley Saldana in 57th (23:04.6), and Annie Lou Howell in 70th (24:17.7). Aiden, Lexi, Ambria and Johanna will race in the D2 cross country State finals at the Michigan International Speedway next week Saturday. Go Dutch!
