Holland Public Schools

The Holland Dutch visited the Hamilton Hawkeyes for the third and final game of their OK Conference series on Wednesday in search of a win to avoid the sweep. Unfortunately, the Hawkeyes had other plans. They jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and the Dutch were unable to claw back, scoring one run in an 9-1 loss. At the plate, the Dutch put together three singles - one each by Junior Jay Cantu, Senior Gabe Bos, and Senior Cody Rozema. Bos drove in a run with his single in the top of the fifth. On the mound Bos pitched five innings, allowing eight earned on 14 hits and a walk, while striking out one. Junior Xavier Murphy pitch a scoreless sixth inning to finish it off for the Dutch. The Dutch dropped to 2-12 and 1-11 in the OK Black. They visit Calvin Christian on Friday, May 2 at 4:00 PM for a non-conference doubleheader.
