On a warm Wednesday, the Dutch competed at the Division 2-9 regional tournament, hosted by Byron Center. Holland finished with 7 points and in a tie for 6th place. Scoring for the team was Ahava LeFebre (2 points) who advanced to the semifinals, Sydney McFarland (1 point) who made it to the quarterfinals, Abby Sanchez and Amaya Hallacy (2 points) who semifinaled, and the 3 doubles team of Kiernan Grigg and Ally Valentine (2 points) who also semifinaled. "I'm really proud of the team we had today," said Holland coach Kyle Kreps. "A huge shoutout to Lena D'Addona, Paige Frens, Meredith Lewin (partnered with her sister, Evelyn at #1 doubles), and Imagyn VanVeen who stepped up big today, filling in different spots. Kate Ferguson also deserves a shoutout for fighting through an injury sustained last week at conference and battling for the team." The Dutch had the youngest team with freshmen and sophomores making up over half of the team today. Today was the last match for seniors Kiernan Grigg, Evelyn Lewin, and Abby Sanchez. These three seniors have been outstanding representatives of our program - both on and off the court. We will miss them deeply and thank them for their contributions to the program over the years. Mattawan won the tournament with 27 points.
