On Friday night in a lightning-delayed match, Holland defeated non-conference opponent Black River 3-0 on Senior Night. In the first half, Lesly Garcia-Juarez scored from a pass from Ambria Dupoy. Early in the second half, Garcia-Juarez scored another goal unassisted. After a 40-minute rain delay, Emma Margaron scored the final goal of the match from an assist by Ashley Saldana. The defense of Olivia Weiss, Olivia Bernal, Sophia Escareno, Jubilee Moscorro, Kennedy Romin, and Kelsie Dekker helped earn the shut-out for keepers Khee Rumpsa and Yasmin Angulo. "Black River is an organized, well-coached team," said Holland coach Greg Ceithaml. "I was happy with the way we possessed the ball and attacked. I was very excited for our seniors to get the win on Senior Night." Holland seniors are Ambria Dupoy, Sophia Escareno, Ashley Saldana, Khee Rumpsa, captains Emma Maragron and Melina Garcia, and exchange students Nele Heller and Marge Callegari. In JV action, the Holland JV beat Black River 2-1.
