Girls Track Team places 6th at Regionals

Holland placed 6th at the Regional Meet at Allendale on Saturday. On a day that felt more like March than May, Holland scored 47 points and the following girls medaled and received MHSAA Centennial Anniversary Medals, sophomore Alba Rodriguez-Lima was crowned Regional Champion in the High Jump and is heading to the state meet with a jump of (5-5)PR. Alba also took 8th place in the 100m Hurdles. Racing to a 4th place medal was sophomore Miona Rodgers in the 200m (27.53) along with a 5th place in the 100m (13.15) Medaling at 6th place in the 100m Hurdles (17.16) was senior captain Miriam Lopez-Koolhaas she also placed 6th in the 300m Hurdles (52.22). Johanna Mulder ran personal bests in 2 events and medaled at 4th place in the 1600m (5:25.52)PR and 6th place in the 800m (2:27.69)PR. Olivia Weiss raced to 5th place in the 1600m (5:28.83)PR. The 4x800m Relay Team of Johanna Mulder, Emma Margaron, Ashlyn DePoy and Olivia Weiss took home 4th place medals. The 4x100m Relay team of Makayla Clark, Isabella Rondon, Saniya Harshaw and Miona Rodgers took 7th (53.01). The 4x200m Relay team of Isabella Rondon, Amari Copado, Saniya Harshaw and Kaylie Clark kept that baton flying to 7th place (1:57.71). Please congratulate these ladies when you see them. They persevered and excelled on a wretched day for a track meet.
