On Saturday, Holland traveled to Gull Lake for the Gull Lake Invitational. In the first match, Holland defeated Gull Lake 2-0. Andrew Legg struck first with an assist from Santiago Salazar. In the second half, Santiago Salazar scored from a slotted ball by Luke Rund-Scott. Simon Ozimek and Mark Jordan shared the shutout. In the second match of the afternoon, Holland fell to Grand Rapids Christian 2-0. "I thought we had a very successful first day," said Holland coach Greg Ceithaml. "We want to challenge ourselves by playing excellent competition, and Gull Lake and Grand Rapids Christian have been excellent programs in the last few years. I thought we possessed and defended well, but there are many things we can improve upon. I look forward to seeing this team progress." Holland is 1-1 and travels to Hamilton next Wednesday. In JV action, the Holland JV team defeated Grand Rapids Christian 4-0.
