Your Holland Dutch Swim and Dive team hosted The Turtles of Muskegon Mona Shores last night at The Holland Aquatic Center. Sophomore Paige Frens won both the 200 (2:33.10) and 500 freestyle (6:49.63) events with personal best times. Senior Maggie Telgenhof won the 100 breaststroke (1:28.41) and placed second in diving. Sophomore Imagyn VanVeen took second in the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke. Sophomore Olivia Bernal placed second in the 50 free and third in the 100 freestyle. Freshman Sage Brown took third in breaststroke and sophomore Ally Valentine placed third in diving. The 400 freestyle relay team of Frens, Valentine, Van Veen and Brown won the last event of the evening. “We didn’t have quite enough depth to pull out an overall win against the co-op team of Muskegon Mona Shores tonight, but we had very exciting swims and learning opportunities,” said Coach Tonya Book. The Dutch will compete again this Saturday at The Holland Aquatic Center for the annual Holland Invitational. The meet will begin at noon.
