Cross Country Team Earns State Meet with Strong 2nd Place Finish at Regionals

The girls’ cross country team delivered an outstanding performance at the Regional Championships today, finishing 2nd overall and securing a spot at the State Meet on November 1. This is the first time the girls team has made a state team finals since 2000. Johanna Mulder led the way with a time of 18:36, earning 3rd place overall, followed closely by Olivia Weiss, who ran a personal record of 18:37 to take 4th place. Lexi Gibson raced strong for a season-best 20:11 for 17th place, Tessa Nienhuis finished close behind in 19th place with a 20:20. Ashlyn Depoy ran a PR of 20:48 to take 23rd place, and Eisele Prutch added another PR, finishing 36th in 21:35. Rounding out the lineup, Harper Schoon Tanis crossed the line in 23:10, finishing 55th overall. The boys’ cross country team wrapped up their season with a solid 7th place finish at the Regional Championships today, highlighted by two personal records (PRs) and two season bests. Aiden Lambers led the team, earning a medal and 6th place overall with a PR time of 16:17. He will move on to the State Championships along the girls team on Nov.1 Rian Powers followed with a season-best 17:25, finishing 21st overall, while Caelen Gray crossed the line in 29th place with a 17:49. Ale Castillo posted a time of 18:02 for 36th place, and Luke Arendshorst recorded a season-best 18:54. Naz Estrada notched a PR of 18:58, and Ryan Geerts rounded out the team effort with a 19:31 finish.
